Acquisition and Processing Section

At first, the IUBAT central library collects course outlines from faculty members and requests from students. Based on the recommendation, the library interacts with and places orders with selected vendors. All books, monographs, official papers, and donated materials for the IUBAT Central Library are acquired by this section. The officials of IUBAT Central Library assist the acquisition section through their attempts to obtain and preserve information resources for research and teaching. The Section is for

Circulation Section

The central library of IUBAT is staffed with the front desk Circulation Section which is an important part than other sections. Library users can speak with library employees directly here. The issue desk is what makes it up. One of a library's main departments is the lending or circulation department.

Users can borrow only the books designated by library staff. If a user finds the book and desires to borrow it, he or she will undertake the following method:

  1. Library users must show their valid ID card to borrow books and other library resources.
  2. Textbooks, Current and Rare documents are not allowed to issue.
  3. Register your ID in library OPAC for book borrowing.
  4. All borrowed books must be returned on the due date or the borrower is to pay overdue charges at the following rates:

Archives Section

The archive section of the IUBAT Central Library is a repository of historical documents and rare manuscripts, preserving the university's heritage. With a diverse collection spanning disciplines and epochs, it provides students and researchers with invaluable resources for academic exploration, fostering knowledge and understanding within the community.

Reference Section

A distinct reference section filled with a variety of reference volumes is available at the IUBAT Central Library. The reference books are available in this part for the library users. Such items are encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, journals, magazines, periodicals, newsletters, etc., are only meant to be utilized within the Library.

E-Library

E-Library has 48 computer terminals for accessing subscribed electronic information resources via online like IEEE through UGC, LiCoB through BAS, Research4life and more offline databases. The Library is subscribing the e-resources with a view to complement the traditional print collections. This E-Library division also develops and maintains an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The library catalogue is automated by using KOHA Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS). Every day, around two hundred individuals access the E-library. Users can access the E-Library from 8.30 am until 8 pm.

Founder’s Corner

A founder's nook at the central library of IUBAT is organized by a number of publications written by the institution's founder, Professor Dr. M. Alimullah Miyan. It also includes some priceless pictures, accomplishments, and the pinnacle of a unique occasion pertaining to the IUBAT’s founder. This area draws visitor’s attention to learn important details about the university's founder and helps students get to know him better.

Freedom fighter Corner

The Freedom fighter Corner located in the central library of IUBAT, features a variety of books and images pertaining to the Liberation War .We also have some names of freedom fighters who worked at IUBAT. This kind of arrangement at this area aids visitors to the library or students in learning more about the past of Bengali nation.

Fiction Corner

The IUBAT Central library’s fiction section is housed in a spacious casual environment where students read a variety of fiction books according to their interests. In order to ensure reading fluency, students can read in peace in fiction corner while they sit on a grass carpet.

Journals and Periodicals Section

The IUBAT Central Library is housed an extensive collection of journals and publications from many universities and institutions. The Journal and Periodical division of the IUBAT Central Library has an enormous collection of systematically categorized journals and periodicals. By reading journals and publications from this collection, library users stay current. List of Foreign Magazines are:

News clippings, Thesis and Practicum Report Section

IUBAT Central Library allots news clips taken from several daily newspapers. There are 10 distinct types of English newspapers available in the IUBAT Central Library. Depending on a few parameters, IUBAT Central Library retains the news clip. Research and practicum reports from students of several departments are also available in the IUBAT Central Library. IUBAT Central Library has particular record files for the purpose of maintaining practicum and thesis reports. The practicum report and thesis must be verified by the circulation officer before the student clearance.

Wi-Fi Area

Students can access Wi-Fi at the central library in IUBAT. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the entire library for academic and professional purposes.

Library Automation & Digital Section

IUBAT Central Library runs library automation and digital section. This section continues the library automation and digitalization process by maintaining specific procedures. IUBAT Central Library is automated by KOHA software which is developing by IUBAT Central Library Team.
