Circulation Service

Users can borrow only the books designated by library staff. If a user finds the book and desires to borrow it, he or she will undertake the following method:

  1. Library users must show their valid ID card to borrow books and other library resources.
  2. Textbooks, Current and Rare documents are not allowed to issue.
  3. Register your ID in library OPAC for book borrowing.
  4. All borrowed books must be returned on the due date or the borrower is to pay overdue charges at the following rates:

Reference Service

The Central Library at the International University of Business, Agriculture, and Technology (IUBAT) offers extensive reference services to serve its users' research and academic needs. Users are instructed on how to obtain bibliographic information, search electronic databases, and retrieve appropriate items. The IUBAT Central library may assist researchers in citing sources, navigating different citation formats, and helping them better understand research methodologies. Additionally, instructional seminars and workshops are held to improve users' research competencies and information literacy.

E-Reader Service

Inside the IUBAT Central Library, users can access 48 computers. These computers are compiled with e-resources, allowing users to download and read from many web publishers. This service benefits a wide range of people by addressing their information and research demands and has unquestionably increased online resource accessibility.

Photocopy Services

The IUBAT Central Library offers a photocopy service to its users as long as it does not violate the copyright act.

Information, CAS/SDI Services

The Information Desk of IUBAT Central Library provides CAS/SDI services in a way. Current Awareness Service is the broadcast of information intended to keep users informed and current in both connected and fundamental areas of interest. The SDI system generates a user profile based on the user's keywords, favorite topics, and research interests. The system automatically looks through recently acquired materials to match the user's profile with newly acquired materials such as books, journal articles, and conference proceedings.

Assistance for Research

IUBAT Central Library subscribes to several research databases that serve the researchers of IUBAT according to their field of interest. Desired journals or documents will be served via email.

Services for Course Outlines

  1. Submit a soft copy of the course outline to the IUBAT Central Library.
  2. Submit a printed copy of the course outline to the library.
  3. The number of textbooks is only one. It will not change without permission from the authority within the course outline.

OPAC Service

Whether you're a student or a faculty member looking for a book, here is how to use the OPAC:

  1. Log into the OPAC portal using your credentials.
  2. Enter keywords such as Title/Author/Subject/Version, etc., to search for the required book.
  3. Review the results, and if you still can't locate the book you're looking for, try entering a different keyword.
  4. Once you get the relevant book result, take note of the information and check the number of copies left, as well as the location in the library.
  5. Using the information gathered, check out and issue the book from the library.

News Clippings Service

Faculty & Student Orientation Service

The IUBAT Central Library holds an orientation session for faculty led by Md. Monir Hosen, Assistant Librarian. In the student orientation program, the Librarian may visualize the different resources and facilities available at IUBAT Central Library. The library offers orientation to faculty so they can become acquainted with the available services. Library orientation provides information on how to subscribe to e-databases, how to utilize the library, and an overview of our special collections.

Abstracting, Bibliography, and Indexing Services

Bibliographic services offer access to information in various media, such as books, journals, articles, and other materials. They assist users in locating the materials required for research, study, or professional growth.

Abstracting Service: An abstracting database generates a summary of the primary substance of documents, allowing users to decide whether or not to read the complete text. Abstracts are shorter versions of the original work and are frequently accessible through a membership focusing on a specific subject or set of topics.

Indexing Service: An indexing service examines the content of documents and gives a guide to the information contained therein. It includes subject phrases, headings, and a description of the content.

Reading Room Service

A silent zone is a section of the library designated for silent, solitary study. It is located in the library's “study area”. Mobile phones should be turned off or on mute, and no chatting is permitted.
